Personal: Originally from Seal Beach, CA...Nick is the son of JoAnn Springer and David Vilter...His sister, Bridget Merritt, played volleyball for USD from 2000 to 2005.
Prep: Graduated from Los Alamitos High School in 2011...Named Second-Team All-League in 2010 and First-Team All-League in 2011...Honor Roll student for all four years of high school...Ranked the 118th best high school player coming out of California in his senior year by MaxPreps.
Collegiate: Nick is a sophomore at UC Riverside...He expects to see some playing time at shortstop for the Highlanders. As a freshman he compiled a .229 batting average in 36 games. Vilter had 19 hits, with 6 doubles and 2 stolen bases. He started his first year witht the Highlanders as the starting shortstop and in 108 chances, Vilter only made five errors.
2012 Sweets: Vilter hit .238 in 29 games for the Sweets. As an infielder, had a stellar fielding percentage of .954.
