WEEK TWO - 10 Things to Know About Future Sweets
1.
The newest Sweets had an excellent first week.
NWAACC (Northwest Athletic Association of Community College) opened up play this weekend and
Ryan Bean (P) and Jacob Kemmerer (P) both picked up wins for Edmonds CC.
2. Kevin Kuntz, James Stanfield, and Adrian Williams are having fun with their teams so far. Williams and #19 UCLA rolled through Nebraska, winning all three games and staying perfect. 10-0 overall. Kuntz, Stanfield, and #25 Kansas took 3 of 4 from Iowa, winning the three games by a combined 21 runs.

Adrian Williams (IF) had a couple pinch-hit at-bats for UCLA on Friday. Goes 0-1 with a BB and strikeout. He also recorded a put-out in the field.

James Stanfield (C) saw some time at third and behind the plate for Kansas. On Friday he was at the hot corner and went 2-4 with a run scored. On Sunday he was back at catcher and went 1-4 with an RBI and BB.

Kevin Kuntz (IF) grabbed 3 at-bats for
Kansas this weekend - although officially he only had 1. 0-1 with 2 walks. One of them was a bases loaded BB that pushed across an RBI.
6. An okay weekend for the future Sweets on USC.
Matt Hart (3B) hit 3rd on Friday night and went 1-4. He played good defense on the corner with 4 assists and no errors. Matt Foat was clean out in LF but went 0-3 in the 5th spot. USC lost to New Mexico 3-2.

Josh Daniel (C) saw a little action for
St. John's (NY) this weekend. He had a pinch-hit sacrifice fly on Saturday and went 0-3 on Sunday. But he played good defense behind the plate on Sunday with 5 put-outs. St. John's is ranked #30, but lost both games to East Tennessee State University.

Clint Maune pitched the back half of a double-header for
Oklahoma City University on Saturday. Maune had a similar line as Joey Wagman, but he picked up result Wagman didn't. Maune went 5 innings and gave up 5 runs on 5 hits, but the run support was there, and OCU won 10-7.
9.
Joey Wagman pitched for
Cal Poly on Saturday, and it was a somewhat of a struggle. He went 4 innings giving up 6 hits and 6 runs. Errors burned Wagman a little bit. 3 of those runs were unearned. Cal Poly lost to Florida International 10-8.
10. Rain outs hit future Sweet players this weekend. Elliot Stewart (C), Denver Chavez (IF), Jeff Johnson (P), Joey Wagman (P), and Cal Poly had its game vs. Oregon St. canceled on Sunday.
USC got called off on Saturday. The Trojans were set to make the game vs. New Mexico up on Sunday with a double-header. But it's still raining in LA, and it's is giving those games trouble.
